Are you an experienced HR Advisor, HR Officer, People Advisor or Employee Relations Advisor looking for a varied, hands-on HR role where you can genuinely influence managers and operations? We're recruiting for an HR Advisor to join the HR team of a major UK organisation operating across agriculture, transport and logistics. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys employee relations, coaching managers and solving day-to-day people challenges within a busy operational environment.

If your HR background has been within transport, logistics, warehousing, distribution, manufacturing, FMCG, engineering, food production or another fast-paced operational business, we would be keen to hear from you.

The HR Advisor Role

Working alongside an experienced Senior HR Advisor and HR Business Partner, you'll provide practical HR support to managers and employees across the operation. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Advising managers on disciplinary, grievance, absence, conduct and capability cases
  • Supporting and leading employee relations investigations
  • Coaching managers on HR policies, employment law and best practice
  • Managing absence cases and supporting return-to-work and absence reduction plans
  • Building strong relationships with operational managers and employees
  • Supporting recruitment, onboarding and employee lifecycle activity
  • Assisting with workforce planning and organisational change
  • Supporting employee engagement, wellbeing and communication initiatives
  • Maintaining accurate HR records, case documentation and HR systems
  • Helping managers deal confidently and consistently with people issues

What We're Looking For

You may currently be working as an: HR Advisor | HR Officer | People Advisor | Employee Relations Advisor | ER Advisor | HR Generalist | Site HR Advisor. We're particularly interested in candidates who have:

  • Previous HR advisory or generalist HR experience
  • Strong employee relations experience
  • Confidence handling disciplinary, grievance, absence and capability matters
  • Good knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
  • Experience advising and coaching managers
  • The ability to manage several cases and priorities simultaneously
  • A practical, approachable and solutions-focused style
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills

ACIPD qualification is beneficial but not essential.
