You will be joining a fast-growing renewable energy organisation operating anaerobic digestion and waste-to-energy facilities across the UK. The environment is industrial, hands-on and multi-site - ideal for someone who enjoys variety, autonomy and meaningful impact.

The Role

As Health, Safety & Environmental Manager, you will lead and continually improve HSE performance across multiple operational sites. You will provide strategic direction, set standards, and work alongside operational leaders to embed a proactive, high-performance safety culture.

You will:

  • Lead and maintain ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems.
  • Drive consistency, governance and best practice across all sites.
  • Lead audits, inspections, incident investigations and root-cause analysis.
  • Oversee risk assessments, HAZOPs and Safe Systems of Work.
  • Ensure full compliance with environmental permits and regulatory requirements.
  • Liaise with external bodies including the Environment Agency, auditors and insurers.
  • Lead, mentor and develop a team of SHEQ Advisors.
  • Report performance, trends and risk to senior leadership.
  • Champion behavioural safety, engagement and continuous improvement.

This is a visible, operational role - you'll spend time on site, with engineers, operators and managers, shaping how safety is lived day-to-day.

About You

You are a senior HSE professional who combines technical credibility, leadership gravitas and practical judgement.

You will bring:

  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent Level 6 H&S qualification.
  • Chartered IOSH or working towards (desirable).
  • Senior HSE leadership experience in high-risk, operational environments.
  • Proven experience leading multi-site HSE functions.
  • Strong knowledge of UK H&S and environmental legislation.
  • Hands-on experience with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
  • Confidence influencing senior leaders and operational teams.
  • A pragmatic, solutions-led mindset - you know how to make systems work in the real world.
  • Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel between sites.
