We are recruiting on behalf of a globally recognised engineering organisation specialising in combustion and environmental solutions across oil & gas, petrochemical, power and heavy industrial sectors. Due to continued growth across EMEA, the Global Field Services – Turnarounds (TAR) division is expanding and looking to appoint an experienced Turnaround Project Engineer to support international shutdown projects.

About the Role

The Turnaround Project Engineer will play a key role in supporting the growth of the Service and Turnaround (TAR) business across the EMEA region. This is a field-service‑led position where the Turnaround Project Engineer will lead turnaround projects and work with the wider team to provide customers with combined service and parts solutions on a turnkey basis. Projects typically run 2–4 weeks (occasionally up to 6 weeks). Between assignments, the Turnaround Project Engineer will be based at the Stamford facility supporting planning, technical preparation and sales support.

The Role

  • Lead plant shutdown and turnaround (TAR) projects across EMEA
  • Conduct pre‑turnaround site surveys and inspections
  • Develop technical findings reports and support commercial bids
  • Prepare RAMS, schedules, inspection sheets and mobilisation plans
  • Review manpower, tooling and spare parts requirements
  • Provide hands‑on mechanical and electrical support when required
  • Coordinate expedited parts during live shutdowns
  • Maintain full project documentation including timesheets and technical reports
  • Identify additional service, upgrade and parts opportunities
  • Support growth of the global turnaround services capability

The Turnaround Project Engineer will work across combustion systems including:

  • Flare systems
  • Flare gas recovery
  • Process and power burners
  • Thermal oxidisers
  • Boiler burners
  • Burner Management Systems (BMS)
  • Associated pollution control equipment

What We’re Looking For – Essential

  • Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or Controls engineering background
  • Field service, maintenance or practical engineering experience
  • Experience supporting or leading plant shutdowns / turnarounds
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Confident communicator (operators through to senior management)
  • Full UK driving licence and valid passport
  • Willingness to travel internationally for up to 6 weeks

Desirable

  • Oil & gas, petrochemical, power or process industry experience
  • Combustion equipment experience (flares, burners, incinerators, BMS)
  • Level 3+ engineering qualification
  • Commercial awareness
