As Health and Safety Advisor, you will become the principal source of day-to-day health and safety guidance at the site. You will support the Plant Manager with legislative and operational compliance, lead behavioural safety activity, monitor site performance and help embed a culture of continuous improvement. The position also includes incident investigation, contractor management, ISO 45001, audits, inspections, reporting and extensive involvement during planned plant outages.

This role would suit an engaging and practical safety professional who is comfortable working within a live operational plant environment and influencing employees, managers and contractors at every level.

  • Representing the site at the UK Health and Safety Committee Forum
  • Leading or supporting incident and near-miss investigations
  • Identifying root causes and ensuring lessons learned are embedded across the site and wider Group
  • Monitoring the completion of corrective actions arising from investigations
  • Producing detailed incident reports in line with Group procedures
  • Producing weekly health and safety reports for site and Group management
  • Acting as a super-user for the incident-reporting system and supporting user training
  • Conducting weekly health and safety inspections
  • Developing and managing the site audit and inspection programme
  • Supporting the Plant Manager when dealing with clients and relevant external or regulatory bodies
  • Providing guidance on compliance, operational risk and safe systems of work
