Agricultural Maintenance Engineer
to join a busy Harvest Engineering Team in
Soham, near Ely . You'll maintain and repair harvesting and processing machinery, respond to breakdowns and help prepare equipment for the demands of the harvest season. Your work will directly support machinery reliability, productivity and crop delivery. Pay and benefits £16–£19 per hour

Working hours This role involves substantial seasonal working hours, so flexibility during busy periods is essential. Peak summer harvest:

60 hours per week
Day shifts:
6am–6pm, working
Sunday–Thursday or Tuesday–Saturday
Winter season:
up to
55 hours per week
The role As Agricultural Maintenance Engineer, you will: Maintain, repair and fault-find on harvesting and processing machinery
Respond promptly to breakdowns, prioritising repairs with the Engineering Team Leader
Minimise equipment downtime and support production targets
Identify and implement improvements to machinery reliability, safety and efficiency
Support fabrication, machinery modifications and engineering projects
Prepare equipment for seasonal operational demands
Manage tools, spare parts and equipment to maintain operational readiness
Complete work safely and to a high engineering standard
Share knowledge and support colleagues within the engineering team
Provide technical support to third-party or off-site operations when required
About you We're keen to hear from candidates with practical engineering experience in
agricultural machinery, plant equipment, manufacturing, maintenance or machinery repair . You'll bring: A hands-on approach to maintenance, repairs and fault-finding
The ability to respond effectively to breakdowns and prioritise tasks
A strong commitment to safe working and quality workmanship
A team-focused approach and confidence working during busy operational periods
An interest in improving machinery performance and developing your technical skills
Flexibility to work the seasonal shift patterns and hours outlined above
