This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Occupational Health Nurse or Advisor who is looking to take ownership of a site-based occupational health function and make a genuine impact on employee wellbeing.

Working closely with the Head of HR, you will be the go-to specialist for occupational health matters, supporting both employees and managers with health-related issues, sickness absence management and wellbeing initiatives. You'll play a key role in promoting a healthy workforce while ensuring compliance with occupational health legislation and best practice.

The Role:

  • This is a varied position that combines health surveillance, employee wellbeing and absence management within a busy manufacturing environment.
  • You'll be responsible for delivering occupational health programmes across the site, conducting fitness-for-work assessments and supporting employees returning to work following periods of absence.
  • You'll also provide guidance on both physical and mental health matters, helping employees remain safe, healthy and productive in the workplace.

Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Delivering health surveillance programmes including COSHH, Noise and HAVS assessments.
  • Conducting fitness-for-work and capability assessments.
  • Supporting sickness absence management, return-to-work plans and phased returns.
  • Providing wellbeing support and health advice to employees.
  • Carrying out workplace assessments and drug and alcohol testing where required.

Alongside these responsibilities, you'll maintain accurate and confidential medical records, monitor health trends across the workforce and work proactively with HR and management to identify opportunities for improvement in occupational health provision.

About You:

We're keen to hear from qualified Occupational Health Nurses who have experience within a manufacturing environment and are confident managing a broad range of occupational health responsibilities. You will have a strong understanding of health surveillance programmes and occupational health legislation, coupled with the ability to build credibility and trust with employees at all levels. Strong communication skills, sound clinical judgement and a proactive approach to problem-solving are essential.

To be considered, you must have:

  • Active NMC registration as a Registered Nurse.
  • Diploma in Occupational Health Practice (or equivalent Occupational Health qualification).
  • A minimum of three years' clinical nursing experience.
  • At least two years' Occupational Health experience and strong knowledge of occupational health surveillance programmes and relevant legislation.
  • Previous experience working within a manufacturing, industrial or production environment.
