French News Reporter

Hybrid working | 3 days per week on site

Up to £50,000 per annum (pro rata)

Our client — a global digital platform shaping how professionals connect, learn and grow — is looking for a French News Reporter to join their fast-paced newsroom on a 6-month contract, with strong potential for extension.

This is a unique opportunity to report on the stories that matter most to working professionals in France, shaping daily conversations at the intersection of business, careers and society.

The Role

As a French News Reporter, you’ll be at the heart of a modern newsroom, tracking breaking news, spotting emerging trends and curating the most relevant conversations for a professional audience. You’ll work closely with an international team of journalists, contributing to a product used by millions of professionals every day.

You’ll be responsible for turning complex stories into clear, engaging and timely reporting — always with an eye on what professionals need to know right now.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Reporting on breaking news and trending topics across France
  • Writing sharp, engaging headlines, summaries and news roundups
  • Curating high-quality conversations and voices from across the platform
  • Monitoring news performance and audience engagement
  • Collaborating daily with a global newsroom on coordinated coverage
  • Contributing to flagship projects, lists and special reports
  • Supporting creators and contributors to elevate quality storytelling
  • Occasionally producing original features and video content

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years’ experience in a newsroom or fast-paced editorial environment
  • Native-level French and conversational English
  • Strong news judgement and the ability to write quickly and accurately under pressure
  • Deep familiarity with French business and professional news cycles
  • A sharp eye for trends, conversations and standout storytelling
  • Confidence working across digital formats and platforms
