Job Title: Software Engineer (Remote – UK)
Contract: 12 months
Location: Remote (UK-based candidates only)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join a global team responsible for building and improving gaming platforms and developer tools. You will work closely with internal cross-functional teams and external developers to deliver high-quality solutions, resolve technical challenges, and influence product roadmaps.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end systems and features to meet business objectives.
- Build new products and enhance existing ones in collaboration with product engineering, partnerships, and other cross-functional stakeholders.
- Handle complex technical and business issues with a problem-solving mindset.
- Manage partner integrations, ensuring value creation and long-term strategy alignment.
- Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Mentor peers and contribute to a collaborative, knowledge-sharing team environment.
- Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Participate in roadmap planning, workflow optimization, and consensus building across teams.
- Respond to technical issues reported via a ticketing system (approximately 2-3 tickets per day).
- Contribute to new feature development and improvements for developer-facing tools.
- Occasionally travel as required by the role.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5–7 years of experience as a software engineer building and shipping production-quality code.
- Experience with PHP or Hack (or willingness to learn on the job).
- Proven ability to design scalable, maintainable software solutions with clear documentation and test plans.
- Familiarity with software design principles and architecture.
- Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
- Experience with data analytics and leveraging data for decision-making.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience in the gaming industry or working with gaming platforms.
- Familiarity with Instant Games (HTML5) development.
- PHP / Hack (preferred but can be learned on the job)
Team & Culture
You will be the first engineer based in EMEA, working closely with a local partnerships team and collaborating globally across regions (US, NORAM, APAC). Expect a mix of technical problem-solving and creative feature development in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
