The role operates as a Global Engineering expert towards a continuous improvement in reducing operational risks, increasing revenue and optimizing cost across all sites worldwide, through:

  • Expertise deployment for APC and Process Control solutions & improvements

  • Development and deployment of world class practices and functional expertise

  • Identifying and implementing improvement opportunities through internal and external networks, systems, benchmarks and assessments

  • Networking & knowledge management and providing training

RESPONSIBILITIES

Technical Leadership

  • Identify, evaluate and recommend improvement needs for APC and Process Control safety aspects.

  • Identify, evaluate and develop engineering Best Practices (BP) related to APC and Process Control.

  • Monitor the market for new ideas, innovations and identify novel solutions for life cycle management of APC and Process Control.

  • Engage with key OEMs to address design issues affecting asset reliability and to maintain knowledge of upcoming technological improvements.

  • Lead/participate in APC and Process Control Expert Group.

  • Lead technical global initiatives/project in his area of expertise.

Strategy and Planning

  • Support to develop and manage the APC and Process Control annual and five-year workplans with specific deliverables for this area of expertise.

  • Conduct regular Performance Killer analysis based on actual production loss data and RCA's to generate Resolution Plans that recommend specific actions to mitigate common failure modes.

Technical Support and Engagement

  • Provide technical support to the APC and Process Control Expert group.

  • Evaluate APC and Process Control technologies and applications analysis and recommend the best feasible technologies to sites.

  • Evaluate outputs of study, compare with observed behavior and offer resolution to APC and Process Control issues.

  • Provide technical support & consultation to resolve chronic failures/issues.

  • Support Manufacturing in technical audits/assessments/cold eye reviews and remaining life assessment initiatives.

  • Participate in failure analysis and support RCA of actual/potential incidents.

  • Provide expert knowledge on safety and reliability related programs.

Knowledge and Network Management

  • Lead internal and participate in and/or lead external technical networks, forums, conferences and committees that have considerable APC and Process Control content.

  • Manage the APC and Process Control Expert Group.

  • Assure the change management of developed Best Practices, solutions and recommendations.

Competency Development, Mentoring and Coaching

  • Develop and delivery of specialized, quality training to manufacturing engineers.

  • Develop, maintain and retain top-quality APC expertise by effective training, mentoring and coaching.
