Mechanical Supervisor Mentor (Automotive Background)
Location: Newmarket Suffolk
Fixed Term – 6 Months
This exciting opportunity is ideal for an experienced car mechanic or mechanical professional ready to pass on their skills. This role is perfect for someone from a hands-on automotive or mechanical background who wants to move away from the tools and into a rewarding training role, using transferable skills to support others into employment.
Based on-site at Highpoint, you will be mentoring small groups of adult learners, helping them develop practical skills, confidence, and positive behaviours that support long-term employability and rehabilitation.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Delivering engaging vocational training in a secure environment
- Supporting learners with skills development, behaviour, and future goals
- Creating and following structured training plans
- Using varied teaching methods to suit different learning styles
- Maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and professionalism
What We’re Looking For
- A minimum of Level 2 vocational qualification
- Strong hands-on experience in mechanical / automotive or related trades
- Experience delivering practical or vocational training (formal or informal)
- Ability to motivate, mentor, and engage learners
- Teaching or assessing qualification desirable — full support provided if you don’t have one yet
