Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced CNC Machinist to join a highly respected precision engineering and manufacturing business. This role will involve setting and operating CNC lathes to manufacture precision-engineered components to tight tolerances and exact specifications within a fast-paced machine shop environment. You will be responsible for setting tools, running CNC programs, producing first-off components, adjusting machine offsets, and maintaining high standards of quality and on-time delivery.
Working Hours
- Full-time permanent position
- Flexible shifts within opening hours Monday to Thursday
- Early finish on Fridays
- No weekend work
Qualifications
- Craft apprenticeship or equivalent machining training
- Minimum 5 years' machining experience
- Further engineering or manufacturing qualifications advantageous
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience setting and operating CNC machines
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
- Ability to read and understand ISO and conversational machine programs
- Experience using a variety of machine controls
- Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, and material behaviour
- Ability to identify and resolve machining issues proactively
- Experience working to tight tolerances and quality standards
- Deadline-driven with strong attention to detail
- Understanding of on-time delivery requirements within manufacturing
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable Requirements
- Experience machining chambers or fabricated components
- Offline programming experience
- AlphaCAM experience
- Experience using Faro Arm inspection equipment
- Manual turning experience
