Our client is a profitable, bootstrapped UK business operating in the short-let and hospitality space. They run a highly operational, logistics-heavy service and have built their own in-house tech to power it. Over the last year, they’ve quietly rebuilt their entire platform with a small internal dev team and are now expanding into multiple new product lines. Think internal ops tools, client-facing platforms, integrations, and a couple of AI-driven systems to raise service quality and automate support.

The role involves hiring their first Product Manager. You’ll own product end to end, sitting between the founders and a small engineering team. This is not a big-company PM role. There’s no existing product function, no layers, no fluff. You’ll be responsible for shaping what gets built, why it matters commercially, and making sure it actually lands properly with customers. It’s hands-on, detail-heavy, and high trust. You’ll start deep in the weeds and over time build light structure around onboarding, support, and delivery.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Owning prioritisation across several live and in-flight products, including ops systems, client platforms, integrations, and AI tooling.
  • Turning commercial needs into clear, realistic plans for a small dev team.
  • Holding timelines, pushing back when needed, and calling it early when something won’t land.
  • Making sure launches and demos are genuinely ready, not held together with duct tape.
  • Defining product vision, roadmaps, success metrics, and go-to-market readiness.
  • Acting as the voice of the customer during build, not just after launch.
  • Balancing new feature delivery with technical debt and feasibility.
  • Gradually building and managing onboarding, support, and client enablement as things scale.

About you:

This will suit someone early to mid-way in their PM career who wants real ownership. You’re likely someone who is:

  • Extremely organised and detail-oriented.
  • Commercially minded and thinks in terms of client impact and outcomes.
  • Confident holding people to timelines and pushing back when needed.
  • Comfortable getting hands-on rather than delegating from day one.
  • Pragmatic, direct, and happy in a lean, no-frills environment.
  • Not afraid of a dev team saying “that’s not possible” and finding a way forward.

You don’t need to be deeply technical, but you do need to understand trade-offs and feasibility.

Why join them?

This is a rare chance to be the first PM in a business that already works, already makes money, and genuinely needs product leadership. You’ll have real influence, visible impact, and the trust to run things properly without layers of process getting in the way. If you care more about ownership than titles, this is a great one.

What they offer:

  • ÂŁ35k–£50k to start, depending on experience.
  • Clear progression and pay uplift with impact, stretching higher for a stronger profile.
  • Flexible working once trust is established.
  • A grown-up environment where delivery actually matters.

If you’re a PM who wants responsibility early, likes being close to the problem, and doesn’t need shiny perks to do good work, this could be a very solid next step.
