We are seeking a Police Station Accredited Criminal Solicitor to handle a caseload of criminal defence matters from police station through to court proceedings. You will represent clients during interviews under caution, prepare cases, and advocate in court when required.
This role offers the opportunity to work alongside a highly experienced legal team in a supportive environment that encourages professional development and autonomy.
- Salary: £35,000 £40,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am 5:30pm (with on-call duties; time off in lieu)
Essential Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales)
- Police Station Accreditation (mandatory)
- Experience handling a range of criminal defence cases
- Ability to work independently under pressure and manage own caseload
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Commitment to client service and professional ethics
- Local area knowledge of Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire criminal courts
Desirable Requirements
- Duty Solicitor status.
- Experience with Legal Aid Agency (LAA) billing and compliance.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
- Local area knowledge of Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire regions.
Qualifications Required
- Law degree (LLB) or equivalent.
- Legal Practice Course (LPC) or SQE qualification.
- Police Station Accreditation certification.
