Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 4:30pm

We are looking for a Lead Internal Quality Assurer to join a forward-thinking training and education organisation, where quality, learner success and professional development are at the heart of everything we do. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced IQA, Lead IQA or Quality professional to lead a high-performing team, strengthen quality processes and play a key role in improving learner achievement, compliance and the overall quality of teaching, learning and assessment.

The Role

As Lead Internal Quality Assurer, you will provide strategic and operational leadership to a team of IQAs, ensuring consistent, robust and effective quality assurance across a range of vocational learning and apprenticeship programmes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate and develop a team of Internal Quality Assurers, promoting a strong culture of quality, accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the day-to-day management of the IQA function, ensuring effective systems, processes and quality assurance activity.
  • Ensure compliance with awarding organisation requirements, apprenticeship standards and relevant quality frameworks.
  • Allocate workloads effectively and manage IQA diaries, ensuring sampling, verification and quality activity is completed within agreed timescales.
  • Develop and implement robust sampling and verification plans to support learner progression, achievement and consistency.
  • Monitor performance profiles and take proactive action to ensure targets.
  • Conduct regular team reviews, one-to-ones and appraisals.
  • Contribute to the development of high-quality learning resources and materials.
  • Promote consistency, efficiency and best practice across all quality assurance and assessment activity.
  • Maintain a strong focus on learner experience, progression and successful achievement.

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Recognised Assessor qualification or equivalent.
  • Recognised IQA qualification or equivalent.
  • Relevant occupational competence.
  • Proven experience delivering training, assessment and learner support.
  • Previous management, supervisory or team leadership experience.
  • A strong track record of leading, motivating and developing people.
  • In-depth knowledge of apprenticeship programmes, assessment methods and IQA processes.
  • Strong understanding of Awarding Organisation requirements.
  • Knowledge of Estyn inspection requirements.
  • Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly conscientious, self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
  • Willingness to travel as required.

Desirable

  • Experience coordinating External Quality Assurance (EQA) visits.
  • Previous involvement in an Estyn inspection.
  • Welsh-speaking ability.
