About the Role
We have an amazing opportunity for an enthusiastic and dedicated Essential Skills Tutor to support learners in developing their literacy, numeracy, and digital skills. As an Essential Skills Tutor, you will work closely with learners to plan, deliver, and support their learning journey, helping them achieve their Essential Skills qualifications through engaging and effective teaching methods. You will be responsible for arranging, conducting, and invigilating controlled tasks, ensuring learners receive the support they need to successfully complete their qualifications. This role forms part of Jobs Growth Wales Plus (JGW), a Welsh Government initiative designed to provide young people and unemployed individuals with valuable training, work experience, and opportunities to improve their employability.
Your Impact
- Provide literacy, numeracy, and digital literacy support through workshops and one-to-one sessions.
- Support learners to achieve their Essential Skills qualifications within agreed timescales.
- Plan and guide learners through their individual learning journeys.
- Deliver engaging and inspiring learning sessions.
- Ensure learners achieve qualifications to a high-quality standard.
What We're Looking For
Essential Requirements:
- Experience working with young people and/or a passion for making a positive difference.
- Able to deliver up to a level 2.
- An engaging, supportive, and inspirational training style.
- Willingness to work towards a CAVA qualification, Level 3 Award in Education and Training (8375 Practitioners Award), or equivalent.
- Willingness to complete a DBS check (fully funded by the organisation) and EWC registration.
- Full driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
