Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Quality Engineer to join a highly respected engineering and manufacturing business specialising in precision-engineered products and advanced manufacturing processes. This role will involve leading continuous improvement activities, managing quality investigations, supporting customer and supplier quality processes, and driving permanent corrective actions across manufacturing operations. You will play a key role in root cause analysis, non-conformance management, customer complaint resolution, and improving overall product quality in line with industry standards and customer expectations.
Working Hours
- Full-time permanent position
- Flexible shifts within opening hours Monday to Thursday
- Early finish on Fridays
- No weekend work
Qualifications
Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering preferred. ONC/HNC in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or relevant Quality qualification advantageous.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 5 years experience within a manufacturing or precision engineering environment
- Strong experience using Continuous Improvement tools and methodologies
- Experience leading root cause investigations and corrective actions
- Strong understanding of quality management tools including 8D, 5 Whys, Kaizen, Pareto, VSM, Ishikawa, and 5S/6S
- Experience managing NCRs, customer complaints, RMAs, or corrective action processes
- Structured and detail-oriented approach to problem-solving
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to lead or coordinate cross-functional improvement activities
- Proactive and improvement-driven mindset
Desirable Requirements
- Experience using CMM, Faro Arm, or metrology equipment
- Previous vacuum industry or vacuum science experience
- Experience within a machine shop or precision manufacturing environment
