Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Manual Machinist to join a well-established precision engineering and manufacturing business. This role will involve operating manual lathes and mills to manufacture high-quality metal components to extremely tight tolerances within a fast-paced machine shop environment. You will be working from engineering drawings, carrying out basic inspection activities, and ensuring all components are produced to the highest quality standards.
Working Hours
- Full-time permanent position
- Flexible shifts within opening hours Monday to Thursday
- Early finish on Fridays
- No weekend work
Qualifications
Time-served experience operating manual lathes and mills within a manufacturing or machine shop environment
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience operating manual lathes and mills
- Ability to work to very tight tolerances
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings and specifications
- Experience machining metal components within a precision engineering environment
- Good knowledge of measuring equipment including verniers and micrometers
- High attention to detail and quality standards
- Good understanding of health and safety within a machine shop environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
