Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced CNC Machinist to join a highly respected precision engineering and manufacturing business. This role will involve setting and operating CNC lathes to manufacture precision-engineered components to tight tolerances and exact specifications within a fast-paced machine shop environment. You will be responsible for setting tools, running CNC programs, producing first-off components, adjusting machine offsets, and maintaining high standards of quality and on-time delivery.

Working Hours

  • Full-time permanent position
  • Flexible shifts within opening hours Monday to Thursday
  • Early finish on Fridays
  • No weekend work

Qualifications

  • Craft apprenticeship or equivalent machining training
  • Minimum 5 years machining experience
  • Further engineering or manufacturing qualifications advantageous

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience setting and operating CNC machines
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
  • Ability to read and understand ISO and conversational machine programs
  • Experience using a variety of machine controls
  • Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, and material behaviour
  • Ability to identify and resolve machining issues proactively
  • Experience working to tight tolerances and quality standards
  • Deadline-driven with strong attention to detail
  • Understanding of on-time delivery requirements within manufacturing
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience machining chambers or fabricated components
  • Offline programming experience
  • AlphaCAM experience
  • Experience using Faro Arm inspection equipment
  • Manual turning experience
