Recruit Easy are looking for an experienced Engineering Technician to work for our client based in Heathfield, Newton Abbot, Devon.

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a highly motivated and organised Maintenance Engineer to join their engineering team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer to play a key role in maintaining, improving and preventing maintenance issues across a busy production environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of machinery and equipment, helping production operate as efficiently and effectively as possible.

Job Roles

  • Maintain all equipment and machinery to ensure optimum performance.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults.
  • Repair and replace equipment and machinery when required.
  • Carry out daily machinery and equipment inspections.
  • Complete monthly equipment checks, including pressure tests, fluid level checks and temperature probe calibrations.
  • Undertake deep cleaning and strip-downs of machinery and equipment.
  • Train staff on the safe and effective use of new machinery and equipment.
  • Supervise and support the weekly overtime team.
  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance, increase efficiency and enhance production output.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years A0maintenance engineering experience.
  • Experience working within a manufacturing, production or FMCG environment.
  • Mechanical and/or electrical engineering background.
  • Proven experience working with fast-moving machinery, pumps, valves and PLCs.
  • Strong fault-finding, problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
  • Good understanding of preventative maintenance techniques.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally within a fast-paced environment.
