Job Description Practice-Based Accountant – Stevenage (Office Based) Stevenage Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent Working Arrangement: Office based A well-established accountancy practice in Stevenage is seeking an experienced and confident Accountant to join their growing team. This is a hands-on role supporting a varied portfolio of clients across multiple sectors, delivering high-quality accounting, tax, and advisory services. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a busy practice environment and enjoy building strong client relationships. Prepare year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies Complete corporation tax returns, personal tax returns, and VAT submissions Handle bookkeeping and management accounts as required Support clients with queries around accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage) Assist with payroll processing when needed Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and HMRC regulations Previous experience working within an accountancy practice (essential) ACCA/ACA qualified or part-qualified, or qualified by experience Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards and tax requirements Confident preparing accounts from incomplete records Proficient with cloud accounting software (Xero preferred) Clear progression opportunities as the firm continues to grow ~ Ongoing CPD and professional development ~ Free on-site parking
