This Graduate Accountant role forms part of a specialist STEM Pathway for graduates from mathematics, computer science, engineering or physics backgrounds who want to apply analytical and technical thinking in real-world financial infrastructure environments. This pathway is not suitable for graduates with accounting, finance or business degrees.

You will work at the forefront of digital finance, auditing the future of financial infrastructure, from crypto exchanges to decentralised protocols, while contributing hands-on to the development of proprietary software that powers near real-time auditing and reporting. The role offers an equal blend of coding, accounting and blockchain analysis, giving you a rare opportunity to develop deep technical skills alongside structured professional training. You will be coding, learning and applying accounting in parallel, working at the intersection of finance and technology from day one.
Key Responsibilities- Support audit and assurance engagements for clients across digital assets, crypto and blockchain sectors
- Prepare and review financial statements in line with UK GAAP, IFRS and emerging crypto accounting standards
- Assist on tax compliance and advisory projects focused on digital asset regulation
- Engage directly with crypto clients to understand their business models, transaction flows and platforms
- Develop and enhance proprietary in-house software using Python, SQL, R or VBA to enable real-time audit and reporting
- Progress through the ICAEW ACA qualification with comprehensive training and expert mentoring
- Stay ahead of evolving crypto regulation, accounting frameworks and industry best practice
This pathway is designed for candidates with strong academic foundations in mathematics, computer science, engineering or physics. Applicants should be on track for, or have achieved, a First or high 2:1 degree. The firm typically attracts graduates from institutions such as Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial College London and the London School of Economics, alongside other universities where analytical depth, mathematical rigour and technical challenge are central to the curriculum. Must-Have Experience- Undergraduate degree (2:1 or above) or postgraduate degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering or a related STEM discipline
- Coding or scripting experience (Python, SQL, R, VBA) or strong motivation to develop these skills
- Genuine interest in blockchain technology and decentralised finance
- Exceptional analytical, numerical and problem-solving ability with strong attention to detail
- Clear communication skills for effective client interaction and internal collaboration
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving and collaborative environment
- Commitment to completing the ICAEW ACA qualification
