Are you ready to put your commercial energy behind one of the UK’s most important infrastructure transitions?

I’m working with a pioneering clean energy infrastructure business on a mission to accelerate the decarbonisation of commercial transport across the UK. As part of a bold plan to build a nationwide network of low and zero-emission energy hubs, they are now hiring a high-energy Business Development Manager to drive top-of-funnel growth and open doors with the UK’s leading logistics and fleet operators.

The Role:

This is a pure outbound, pipeline-creation role at the front line of growth.

You’ll be responsible for generating qualified meetings with senior decision-makers across the transport and logistics sector through:

  • Cold calling, LinkedIn outreach, and multi-channel prospecting
  • Attending industry events and networking with purpose
  • Early-stage discovery calls and opportunity qualification
  • Creative account penetration strategies and referral generation

You’ll be on the road 2–3 days per week, actively engaging the market at conferences, trade shows, site visits, and networking events.

This is a foundational role in a fast-scaling commercial team – perfect for someone who thrives on activity, conversations, and measurable output.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Running high-volume outbound campaigns (~200+ touches per week)
  • Booking 20+ self-generated qualified meetings per month
  • Owning early-stage discovery and qualifying opportunities
  • Following up inbound leads in collaboration with Marketing
  • Building structured, high-quality CRM records
  • Refining targeting, messaging, and outreach strategyRepresenting the business at 12–18 major industry events annually
  • Identifying new event and partnership opportunities
  • Continuously improving outbound playbooks based on real market feedback

What We’re Looking For:

  • 4+ years in B2B sales or business development
  • Proven success in outbound prospecting and event-led lead generation
  • Highly self-motivated, target-driven, and metrics-focused
  • CRM proficient (HubSpot, Salesforce or similar)
  • Comfortable in a fast-moving, evolving environment
  • Genuine curiosity about the energy transition and logistics sector
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively

What’s on Offer:

  • Competitive salary aligned to experience
  • Performance bonus up to 15%
  • Enhanced pension scheme
  • Enhanced paternity policy
  • Hybrid working with flexibility around travel and events

Why This Role?

This is not a passive sales role. It’s for someone who:

  • Enjoys being out in the market, not behind a desk
  • Loves the energy of events, conversations, and fast feedback loops
  • Wants to shape messaging, strategy, and early commercial growth
  • Wants to be part of a mission that genuinely matters

You’ll be joining at a pivotal stage – helping build the commercial engine of a business set to play a major role in the UK’s energy transition.

If you’re commercially sharp, naturally proactive, and thrive in high-activity environments – this is your opportunity to make a real impact from day one.
