Class 1 HGV Driver – Days – £16.50 Per Hour – Leeds

Recruit A Driver is recruiting experienced Class 1 (C+E) HGV Drivers for an ongoing day-shift opportunity with an established client in Leeds.

Offering £16.50 per hour, Monday-to-Friday work and typically 06:00 starts , this role is ideal for drivers looking for regular daytime driving work without the demands of manual handling.

About the Role

You'll primarily be completing container movements and box swap work, supporting the client's day-to-day transport operations.

The work may also include occasional trunking or low multi-drop deliveries, depending on operational requirements.

Your duties will include:

• Completing container movements and box swaps

• Preparing trailers and containers for ongoing operations

• Carrying out occasional trunking or low multi-drop work

• Completing daily vehicle safety checks and reporting defects

• Ensuring transport paperwork is completed accurately

• Maintaining high standards of vehicle care and road safety

• Complying with Driver Hours and Working Time Regulations

No manual handling is required.

Requirements

• Valid UK Class 1 (C+E) licence held for at least 2 years

• Recent Class 1 driving experience

• Valid Driver CPC qualification card

• Valid digital tachograph card

• Container experience preferred

• Maximum 6 penalty points

• No DD, DR or TT endorsements; other endorsement codes may be considered

• Must be aged 25 or over for insurance purposes

• Reliable, professional and safety-conscious approach

Container experience is preferred rather than essential , making this an opportunity worth considering if you have suitable Class 1 experience but have not previously driven containers.
