About the Role
Recruit A Driver is currently recruiting experienced Class 1 HGV Drivers for a well-established client based in Scunthorpe. This is an excellent opportunity for drivers looking for straightforward, ongoing night trunking work. The role involves trunking to distribution hubs in Burton-on-Trent or Leicester, with no manual handling required. Drivers will complete a scheduled trunk run, delivering before approximately 22:00, collecting again around 02:00, before returning to the depot.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete nightly trunk runs to distribution hubs
- Deliver and collect trailers safely and efficiently
- Carry out daily vehicle safety checks before and after each shift
- Complete delivery paperwork and Proof of Deliveries (PODs) accurately
- Maintain high standards of vehicle care and professionalism
- Comply with Driver Hours and Working Time Regulations
- Provide a professional and reliable service at all times
Requirements
- Valid UK Class 1 (C+E) Licence
- Minimum 6 months' recent Class 1 driving experience
- Valid Driver CPC Qualification Card
- Digital Tachograph Card
- Maximum 6 penalty points (minor endorsements only)
- Reliable, punctual and professional approach
- Strong commitment to safety and compliance
