Job Description

Job Title: Class 2 HIAB Driver (Ongoing)
Location: Leeds, West Yorkshire
Pay Rate: £17.00 per hour
Start Time: 07:00
Job Type: Ongoing contract

Recruit A Driver are currently recruiting for an experienced Class 2 (Category C) HIAB Driver to support a well-established roofing materials supplier based in Leeds. This role provides ad-hoc cover during holiday and sickness periods and is ideal for drivers looking for flexible work.

You will be delivering roofing materials using a Class 2 vehicle fitted with HIAB to independent roofing businesses and housing sites across Leeds, Wakefield, Harrogate and York. Routes are well organised with a relatively low number of deliveries per day.

The Role

  • Driving a Class 2 vehicle fitted with HIAB

  • Delivering roofing materials including tiles, battens, insulation and palletised goods

  • Deliveries to independent roofing contractors and housing sites

  • Routes covering Leeds, Wakefield, Harrogate and York

  • Typically 45 drops per day

  • HIAB offload at delivery points

  • Minimal manual handling (occasionally required)

  • Providing ad-hoc cover for holiday and sickness absence

  • Lower drop volume compared to typical multi-drop work

  • Well-planned delivery routes

Requirements

  • Valid Class 2 (Category C) driving licence

  • HIAB certificate (remote, hook or grab experience preferred)

  • Experience delivering to trade customers or building sites

  • Professional and polite customer-facing manner

  • Moffett licence beneficial but not essential

  • Reliable and safety-focused approach
