Class 1 HGV Driver – Tramping – Bradford Location: Bradford Positions Available: 3 Job Type: Temporary – Approximately 4 Weeks, Potential Extension Expected Start Date: 8th November 2026 Shift Pattern: Sunday to Thursday Start Times: Variable, between 00:00 and 23:59 Working Away: Nights out throughout the working week ABOUT THE ROLE Recruit A Driver is recruiting three experienced Class 1 HGV Drivers for an established Amazon contract operating from Bradford. This is a temporary tramping opportunity initially expected to last approximately four weeks, with the potential for an extension depending on the contract requirements. Drivers will work away from home throughout the week, with tours starting on Sunday and returning on Thursday night or Friday morning. The client operates a mixture of day and night start times and will try to accommodate driver preferences wherever possible. THE ROLE Drive a Class 1 HGV on nationwide trunking routes Transport goods between Amazon distribution centres Follow routes and work instructions through the Amazon Relay app Visit distribution centres across the UK, including the Midlands, Wales, Dartford and Ipswich Carry out vehicle checks and ensure loads are safe and secure Maintain professional standards when attending customer sites No loading, unloading, handballing or tail-lift work required SHIFT DETAILS Sunday to Thursday working pattern Return home Thursday night or Friday morning Variable start times between midnight and 23:59 Shifts planned around 12 hours, although drivers are currently averaging approximately 9 hours per shift Drivers must be comfortable staying away from home throughout the working week REQUIREMENTS Valid UK Class 1 (Category C+E) licence Previous Class 1 driving experience Valid Driver CPC Qualification Card Valid Digital Tachograph Card Comfortable using the Amazon Relay app Willingness to complete the required background checks Must be able to pass the required drug and alcohol testing Reliable, professional and safety-conscious approach BACKGROUND CHECKS & EXPENSES All drivers must complete the required Amazon background checks and drug and alcohol testing before starting. Background checks are initiated through the Amazon Relay app, so an email address will be required. Parking is arranged through SNAP-approved locations.
