Salary: £34,000 - £36,000 per annum, depending on experience
Location: Redditch area
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 17:00
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong background in sea freight operations who is looking to further develop their experience within a busy and varied logistics environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing shipments from start to finish, ensuring a high level of service is delivered throughout the process. The role will focus primarily on sea freight imports and exports, with some involvement in air and road freight operations. Training can be provided where needed. There is also a commercial aspect to the role, including outbound contact with customers to support wider business activity.
Key Responsibilities- Manage sea freight import and export shipments from quotation through to final delivery
- Support air and road freight bookings where required
- Liaise with customers, overseas agents, hauliers, and suppliers
- Arrange customs clearance and final delivery
- Monitor shipments and resolve operational issues efficiently
- Ensure accurate job costing and invoicing
- Deliver a high standard of customer service throughout
- Make outbound calls to support customer relationships and business activity
- A minimum of 2 years' experience within sea freight operations
- Good working knowledge of customs clearance procedures
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Previous exposure to air and road freight would be advantageous, but is not essential
- Competitive salary of £34,000 - £36,000, depending on experience
