About the Role
Recruitable Staffing are recruiting for an experienced European Freight / Customs Supervisor to join a busy freight and logistics operation based in Redditch. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong European road freight experience, particularly exports into Southern Ireland and Northern Ireland, along with a solid understanding of customs procedures and compliance.
The successful candidate will take ownership of daily road freight export files, liaise with agents and suppliers, support new customer onboarding and act as a key point of knowledge for customs-related queries across the operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily road freight export files from start to finish
- Handle European freight movements, with a focus on Ireland and Northern Ireland
- Liaise with overseas agents, suppliers and internal teams
- Ensure export files are accurately costed, invoiced and maintained
- Review customs documentation and support compliant customer onboarding
- Ensure the correct customs procedures are followed across the team
- Keep up to date with customs and trade legislation changes
- Communicate upcoming legislative changes clearly to teams and customers
- Support internal customs-related projects and process improvements
- Use Excel and internal systems to manage information accurately
Skills and Experience Required
- Strong European freight experience is essential
- Previous road freight export experience is required
- Strong understanding of exports into Southern Ireland
- Good knowledge of Northern Ireland customs requirements
- Experience using TSS or similar customs platforms would be highly beneficial
- Confident handling IMMI's and full customs declarations
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organisation and time management skills
- Confident communicator with a proactive, solutions-focused approach
- Good working knowledge of Excel
- Customs qualifications Level 2-4 would be advantageous
