About the Role

We are recruiting for a Temporary Accounts Assistant. This is a varied, hands-on role requiring strong organisation, accuracy, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. You will be working as part of a supportive finance team where communication, efficiency, and attention to detail are essential. The role is office based only, working from the team's Essex office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Processing purchase ledger invoices and credit notes
  • Managing purchase ledger payments
  • Raising and processing sales ledger invoices and receipts
  • Maintaining multi-currency cash books and performing bank reconciliations
  • Preparing weekly payment runs
  • Managing and monitoring a shared finance email inbox
  • Providing general finance and administrative support to the team as required

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Flexible, confident, and able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • A strong communicator with a professional telephone manner and client-focused approach
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and efficiency
  • Competent in MS Excel, Word, Outlook, and accounting software
