Salary: £12.71 per hour for ages 21+; £10.85 per hour for ages 18-20

Hours: Full-time or part-time - 20 or 40 hours per week

Our client is an established, friendly retailer looking for a helpful and reliable Retail Assistant to join its small team. This is a varied, hands-on role, combining customer service with keeping the shop well stocked and organised.

With full-time and part-time options available, working patterns can be discussed to suit 20 or 40 hours per week. Working hours are within Monday to Friday, 8.30 am-5.30 pm, and Saturdays, 8 am-12 noon.

The role of Retail Assistant

• Welcome customers and provide friendly, attentive service.
• Answer customer queries and help customers with their purchases.
• Operate the till, handle cash and process card payments accurately.
• Receive deliveries, replenish shelves and keep displays tidy.
• Help with moving stock, including some heavy lifting, using safe handling practices.
• Keep the shop clean, organised and welcoming, supporting colleagues with day-to-day tasks.

To be successful in the role of Retail Assistant

• A friendly, approachable manner and good communication skills.
• A reliable, practical approach and willingness to help where needed.
• Confidence handling payments and attention to detail.
• Willingness to undertake the physical aspects of the role, including moving stock.
• Previous retail or customer service experience would be helpful.
