Job Description:
Permanent New Graduate Veterinary Surgeon, Newcastle Upon Tyne
- Type: 85% small, 10% equine, 5% farm mix - OR Small Animal Only
- Location: Newcastle Upon Tyne
- Practice: Well-established independent practice
- Facilities: Supportive, encouraging work environment with top quality, modern medicine and surgery.
- Close to excellent transport links, city centres, countrysides, and the coast.
Role:
- Seeking a new graduate Mixed or Small animal vet surgeon to join their team.
- Full-time, 5 or 4 days per week.
- One night on call per week (with support by another vet).
- Part-time hours are negotiable but ideally at least 2 full days per week plus weekend rota cover.
- 1 full weekend on call in every 6 (for every full weekend worked, no night on call the following week and a Friday or Monday off to make a long weekend).
- 1 Saturday morning in 3 (one of these will be part of the full weekend on call every 6).
- Bank holiday cover equally shared.
Applicant Requirements:
- MIXED OR SMALL ANIMAL ONLY VET.
- Must be able to drive in the UK.
- 80% small, 10% equine, 10% farm mix or small animal only.
- One night on call per week (with support from another vet).
- 1 full weekend on call in every 6 (for every full weekend worked, no night on call the following week and a Friday or Monday off to make a long weekend).
- 1 Saturday morning in 3 (one of these will be part of the full weekend on call every 6).

Remuneration Package:
- Minimum of 6 weeks annual paid leave.
- Birthday given off (on successful completion of 6-month probationary review).
- Profit sharing scheme (on successful completion of 6-month probationary review).
- 12-month review, resulting in a salary increase.
- Annual salary reviews thereafter.
- No sole charge on call work.
- Professional RCVS and VDS membership paid.
- VISA sponsorship and funding.
- Generous CPD allowance, encouraged and supported.
