Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon with a passion for orthopaedics to join a friendly practice in the Brecon area of Powys. The ideal candidate would have experience performing TPLO/CCWO/TTA and fracture fixation, and have soft tissue surgical and general practice skills. However, candidates with a solid foundation in surgical techniques wishing to learn new orthopaedic procedures are also encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
Full-time role (4-day week), part-time considered.
Participation in Saturday rota 1:5 and inpatient on-call rota 1:6 (Mon-Fri only, no nights on call on Sat/Sun/Bank Holidays).
Start at 08:45, with the last appointment at 18:15.
15-minute appointments.
The Candidate:
The practice prides itself on maintaining its own inpatients, providing a high standard of care and continuity for its patients.
The successful candidate will also be expected to offer back-up support to junior vets on a 1:6 basis.
In addition to leading the orthopaedic service, the candidate will be a capable GP Vet who enjoys a variety of procedures and is comfortable administering vaccines.
The role will involve working across four RCVS-accredited branches in South Wales, all equipped with ultrasound, digital X-ray, and in-house blood machines.

The salary on offer will be reflective of skills and experience
28 days holiday including bank holidays (based on 4 days/week)
£1750 CPD allowance per annum plus 5 days
