Practice Type: Independent mixed animal practice - They are a busy mixed practice providing veterinary services to companion animals, farm animals, and equines in Lancashire.

Facilities/Services: Their purpose-built practice is bright and spacious. With heating and air conditioning to provide a pleasant work environment. They have a varied caseload both medical and surgical, with excellent facilities including:

  • 7 consult rooms
  • a dedicated bereavement room
  • 2 operating theatres
  • a separate dental suite with dental x-ray
  • brand new ultrasound machine
  • digital x-ray
  • endoscopy
  • 5 patient wards
  • hydrotherapy
  • stance analyser
  • class IV laser

They provide a supportive workplace to all staff, especially new graduates. Several of their senior vets are GDP mentors actively assisting new graduate progression and a clinical director or senior vet is available 24 hours a day for advice or help if required.

Team: Their large team is friendly and caring, providing gold-standard treatment to patients. They have a great mixture of experienced vets as well as more recently qualified vets.

Role: An exciting opportunity has arisen for two small animal vets to join our clients' team due to expansion. They are a proudly independent practice consisting of a large team of friendly and supportive vets, nurses, and receptionists. They work in a purpose-built RCVS status hospital with two branch practices.

Hours: Full-time, rota to be discussed in the interview

Weekends: 1 in 4 weekends, always backed by an experienced director

OOHS: They provide their own out-of-hours cover, which provides clients and patients with seamless care. As well as giving their vets the ability to tackle some more exciting emergency and critical care cases. The OOH rota is equally split between 8 vets with a separate ‘backup’ rota which allows for an experienced vet to always be available for support as a second on-call.

Consults: Their consultation slots are a minimum of 15 minutes, with sufficient breaks between blocks to catch up on admin and/or brew breaks.

Skills/Exp: They are currently looking for 2 vets with at least 2 years of experience (or having completed their vetGDP portfolio) to join their team.

Salary: They offer a generous salary that is reflective of skills and experience - for example, a New Grad would start from £37,722 pa rising generously with experience.
