Quality Engineer sought by a global automotive manufacturing organisation serving customers in more than 150 countries, based at their Burton on Trent plant.

The Role: Reporting to the Senior Quality Engineer, the Quality Engineer will be responsible for fulfilling quality related deliverables for the Burton plant. Your day-to-day duties will include:

  • Analyse customer returns, concerns and defects
  • Prepare and maintain control plan for components and complete products
  • Perform Capability Studies and Process Audits
  • Able to use key Quality tools, PPS, A3, Ishikawa, Is/Is Not, Mini Tab, 5Why
  • Support the continuous improvement of the Operator Description Sheets (ODS)
  • Lead Problem Solving teams for Root Cause Analysis on Plant/Customer issues
  • Understand supplier requirements for PPAP
  • Be able to travel at short notice
  • Raise and manage quality documentation (Quality Alerts, PFU’s etc)

Which qualifications are we looking for in potential employees?

  • Automotive Industry experience is advantageous but not essential.
  • Manufacturing Quality system experience and customer communication activities
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent communication and presentation skills to all levels of the business including the customer
  • Able to demonstrate knowledge of Problem-Solving Tools and Techniques
  • Required to be committed, self-driven to learn and have the ability to work on your own initiative
  • Minimum HNC qualified
