Lead X-Ray Screeners sought by a multimillion pound food products manufacturer to join their team in Bilston. They are recruiting 3 roles, 1 for each of the following shift patterns:
- Morning: Monday to Friday 5.30am – 3pm
- Days: Monday to Friday 8.30am – 6pm
- Evenings: Tuesday to Friday 2pm – 10.30pm, Saturday 8.30am – 5pm
The Role: As Lead X-Ray Screener, you are responsible for ensuring the effective operation, performance, compliance, and continuous improvement of all x-ray inspection processes. The role provides technical leadership, supports food safety objectives, drives operational standards, and acts as the primary point of contact for all x-ray-related activities within the production environment.
Your day to day duties will include:
- Take ownership of the day-to-day operation, monitoring, calibration, and validation of x-ray inspection systems to ensure optimal performance and food safety compliance.
- Act as the site expert for x-ray operations, providing guidance and support to production teams while ensuring correct product presentation and system settings.
- Monitor equipment performance, identify faults or trends, and coordinate with Engineering and external service providers to resolve issues quickly.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and corrective actions using Redzone, analysing data to identify risks and drive continuous improvement.
- Lead investigations into equipment failures, contamination incidents, and process deviations, implementing effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure all x-ray-related activities meet food safety, quality, and compliance standards, supporting audits and promoting best practice across the site.
- Communicate findings, quality concerns, and performance updates to relevant stakeholders, escalating issues where necessary.
- Exercise authority to stop production where food safety, x-ray controls, or operational standards are compromised.
Your skills and experience as Lead X-Ray Screener:
- Experience with x-ray food safety inspection systems including operation, monitoring, calibration and validation.
- Knowledge of industrial food scanning within the food manufacturing sector.
- Working knowledge of food quality and safety standards.
- Experience of working in conjunction with Quality department.
- Ability to analyse trends in x-ray data to identify recurring issues and opportunities for improvement.
- Experience of using Redzone food safety compliance software would be beneficial.
