12 months sought by a multimillion pound food products manufacturer to join their team in Bilston. This is a temporary role for 12 months maternity cover, PM shifts Tuesday to Saturday: Tues – Thurs 2pm to 11.00pm; Fri 1.30pm to 10.30pm; Sat 8am to 6pm.

The Role: As Quality Control Supervisor you will oversee quality assurance activities across the food production site. Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will lead and develop the QA/QC team, ensuring compliance with food safety, quality, legal and customer requirements while driving continuous improvement throughout the business.

Your responsibilities as Quality Control Supervisor:

  • Lead, supervise and develop the Quality Control team.
  • Ensure compliance with BRCGS, GMP, HACCP, food safety legislation and customer specifications.
  • Conduct audits, inspections, traceability exercises, mass balance checks and quality assessments across the site.
  • Investigate non-conformances, implement corrective actions and liaise with suppliers where required.
  • Support internal and external audits and deputise for the Quality Manager when necessary.
  • Manage microbiological and organoleptic sampling programmes and maintain accurate quality records.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering and hygiene teams to drive quality improvements and resolve issues.
  • Coordinate export requirements, customer sample requests and label approval processes.
  • Monitor hygiene, maintenance and prohibited item procedures to ensure full site compliance.

Your experience as Quality Control Supervisor:

  • Previous experience in a food manufacturing quality leadership role is desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of BRCGS, GMP, HACCP and food safety legislation.
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Organised, self-motivated and able to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong people management skills with experience coaching, developing and supporting teams.
