Senior Fabricator sought by a UK leading extruder and distributor of PVCu windows systems. Established for over 40 years, they are an independent, family-owned business known for their quality, innovation and performance standards.

They are looking for an experienced fabricator/engineer within the fenestration industry with experience of supporting team members by providing training on tools and processes and to be a key point of contact to their window fabricator clients within the South East area.

The Role:

Known formally within the business as Tooling Technician, as a Senior Fabricator covering the South East region (around M25 and London), you will use your expertise to ensure that customers have the right tools, machinery in place, and expertise (via training) to fabricate window profile systems to the required standard.

Your day-to-day duties will include:

  • Visiting prospective window fabrication customers to plan factory layout, if required
  • Ordering appropriate tooling for customers’ machinery
  • Testing machinery prior to production
  • Giving full instruction in the fabrication of window profile systems
  • Helping customers with first orders, if required
  • Showing customers the use of computer software supplied by the Company, if required
  • Manufacturing samples for the sales force and weather/security testing when required
  • Dealing with existing customer base and carrying out minor repairs to machines where possible
  • Attending general visits to ensure fabricators are happy and performing site visits as required to examine problems that arise with profiles and production
  • Assisting in the Technical office to cover any absences

The successful Senior Fabricator will demonstrate:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience of working in the Fenestration industry
  • As a Tooling Engineer or Senior Fabricator, you may have managed a team, been a Charge Hand or trained staff in the making of doors and windows
  • Good experience of window fabrication or production management
  • Knowledge of training on how to make doors and windows
