Job Details:
- Pay: £16.27 – £21.92 per hour (PAYE) (Rates vary depending on project site, overtime available)
- Hours of Work: Core Hours 38 hours per week – Monday to Thursday 8:00am–4:30pm, Friday 8:00am–2:00pm (hours will vary depending on site requirements)
- Duration: Permanent

Job Role:
The Semi Skilled Site Operative will work on engineering and industrial sites across the UK, carrying out general construction and maintenance tasks and assisting skilled tradespeople. Responsibilities include using hand and power tools, maintaining housekeeping standards, completing paperwork and risk assessments, reporting to supervisors, and ensuring all site health & safety procedures and best practices are followed.
Essential Skills, Experience, or Qualifications:
- Proven experience of engineering site work in an industrial environment
- Excellent experience using hand and power tools
- Good knowledge of site health & safety requirements
- Strong mechanical engineering or site fitting and maintenance background
- Full UK driving licence
Advantageous Skills, Experience, or Qualifications:
- C&G or NVQ in a mechanical or engineering discipline
- Valid CCNSG, ACE Card, CSCS, or equivalent site safety card
Additional Information:
- Basic pay rates and overtime vary, with some projects operating under NAECI or ECSA agreements
- Some sites require DBS checks and extensive background screening due to high security levels
- Some work will be based at the client’s workshop in St Helens, so the ability to commute is essential
- The role involves extended overnight stays and working across the UK
