  • Hours of Work: Monday - Thursday, 08:00 - 16:30; Friday, 08:00 - 15:30

Job Role

The

Quality Engineer will support the development, implementation and continual improvement of quality systems and manufacturing processes across CNC machining, welding, electropolishing, inspection, engineering and production.

Working closely with operational teams, the role will ensure products meet customer, regulatory and company requirements while promoting a right-first-time culture.

Quality Engineer , you will lead non-conformance investigations, drive corrective and preventative actions, support audits and use quality data to identify opportunities to reduce defects, waste and rework.

  • Maintain and improve the QMS in line with ISO 9001, customer and industry requirements.
  • Drive product quality across CNC machining, welding, electropolishing, finishing and inspection.
  • Lead investigations into non-conformances, identifying root causes and delivering effective CAPA.
  • Identify quality risks and drive preventative actions and continuous improvement.
  • Support FAI, process validation, capability studies, inspection planning and process control.
  • Analyse quality, production and supplier data to identify trends, reduce defects and improve performance.
  • Support audits, supplier quality, welding compliance, calibration and inspection activities.
  • Champion Lean Manufacturing, structured problem-solving and a culture of quality improvement.

Essential Skills, Experience, or Qualifications

  • The

Quality Engineer will require experience within a manufacturing, engineering or fabrication environment.

  • Experience working within an ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
  • Experience conducting root cause analysis and corrective action investigations.
  • Experience supporting production, machining, welding or inspection processes.
  • Experience participating in audits and compliance activities.
  • Experience using measuring and inspection equipment.
  • HNC/HND or Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, Quality Engineering or a related discipline.
  • ISO 9001 Internal Auditor qualification or willingness to obtain.
  • Advantageous Skills, Experience, or Qualifications
  • For the

Quality Engineer , an NVQ Level 2 in Engineering Manufacturing or equivalent would be advantageous.

  • Engineering apprenticeship experience.
  • Manual handling training.
  • Forklift Truck or Overhead Crane certification.
  • GCSE or equivalent in Mathematics and English.
  • Basic Health and Safety Awareness.
  • Basic engineering, manufacturing or machine operation qualification, training or equivalent workplace experience.
