Recruit4staff are representing an established manufacturing business in their search for a Part-Time Maintenance Technician to work in Ellesmere Port.
Hours of Work: 15-20 hours per week, working weekdays between 8:00am and 4:00pm
Duration: Temporary to permanent, with an expected initial duration of six months
Pay: £17.00-£22.00 per hour
Job Role: As a Part-Time Maintenance Technician, you will carry out planned maintenance and occasional breakdown repairs on production line equipment. You will identify and replace faulty components, complete routine building-services checks and support small engineering projects. The Part-Time Maintenance Technician will also manage the engineering stores and arrange specialist engineering support when required.
Key Duties:
- Carrying out planned maintenance on production line equipment
- Attending occasional equipment breakdowns
- Replacing faulty valves, worn seals and other components
- Correcting equipment synchronisation problems
- Removing and replacing defective parts
- Calling out specialist engineers when required
- Managing and maintaining the engineering stores
- Completing small engineering projects as required
- Carrying out planned checks on building services
Essential Skills, Experience or Qualifications:
- Mechanical qualifications or relevant practical experience
- Previous mechanical maintenance or engineering experience
- The ability to work independently and manage routine maintenance tasks
- A practical and methodical approach to fault-finding
- The successful Part-Time Maintenance Technician must be comfortable working on production machinery and building services
Advantageous Skills, Experience or Qualifications:
- Previous experience of mechanical maintenance and repairs on conveyors
- Experience working with transmission components
- Experience maintaining liquid-filling machinery
- Experience maintaining sachet-sealing machinery
- Previous production or manufacturing maintenance experience would support success in the Part-Time Maintenance Technician role
Additional Information:
- This is a part-time position offering between 15 and 20 hours per week
- Some flexibility can be arranged regarding the required working days
- The Part-Time Maintenance Technician may occasionally need to arrange external specialist engineering support
- The role is expected to become permanent following the initial temporary period
