Recruit4staff are representing an established local authority in their search for a Fleet Manager to work in Mold

Job Details:

  • Pay: Β£48,738 to Β£51,928 per annum
  • Hours of Work: 37 hours per week
  • Duration: Permanent

As Fleet Manager, you will lead fleet strategy, procurement, contract and workshop management, ensuring compliance, operational resilience and value for money. Acting as a jointly named Transport Manager on the Operator's Licence, you will provide professional leadership and ensure all legal obligations are met. Working with managers, suppliers and stakeholders, the Fleet Manager will lead a skilled team, drive service improvement and help shape the future of fleet operations, delivering safe, reliable and efficient services for local communities.

Essential Skills, Experience, or Qualifications:

  • Demonstrable experience managing the provision of a fleet management function, including procurement, negotiation, contracting, work programming, vehicle contract management and leasing.
  • Sound understanding of motor vehicle and plant engineering, including emerging technologies relevant to the Fleet Manager role.
  • Experience and/or knowledge of preparing fleet specifications and procurement parameters.
  • Degree in a related field, such as Transport Management or Engineering, or equivalent relevant demonstrable experience.
  • Chartered Member of a recognised transport-related institute.
  • Transport Manager's Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) in Transport Operations, enabling the Fleet Manager to fulfil the professional requirements of the position.

Advantageous Skills, Experience, or Qualifications

  • Welsh speaking and writing skills.
  • Class C, C+E or Class D vocational licence.
  • Health & Safety qualification, such as an Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) Managing Safely certificate.
  • ILM/NVQ Level 4 in Management or extensive experience managing a team, supporting the leadership responsibilities of the Fleet Manager position.
