Recruit4staff are representing a well-established manufacturing business in their search for a Mechanical Fitter to work in Shrewsbury.

Job Role: Working as a Mechanical Fitter, you will be involved in the assembly, maintenance, and installation of mechanical equipment and machinery within a production or workshop setting. This includes using hand and power tools, reading and interpreting technical drawings, and ensuring all work complies with health and safety standards. The role may also involve diagnostics, repairs, and supporting shutdown or commissioning projects depending on the assignment.

Job Details:

  • Pay: £16.00 - £20.00 per hour
  • Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, days
  • Duration: Temp to Perm or Permanent depending on experience

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Experience with mechanical fitting in industrial or manufacturing settings
  • Ability to read mechanical and technical drawings
  • Skilled in using hand tools, air tools and workshop equipment
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience within food, packaging, or FMCG sectors
  • Experience with pumps, conveyors, gearboxes or pipework installations

Essential Qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or Fitting

Desired Qualifications:

  • CSCS card or equivalent safety passport
  • IPAF or forklift licence
