Recruit4staff are representing an established manufacturing business in their search for a General Operative to work in Ellesmere Port.
Pay: £13.00 per hour
Overtime: Paid at x1.5 of basic pay
Hours of Work: Monday - Friday, 8am - 4:30pm (39 hours per week)
Duration: Temp to Perm
Job Role: The General Operative will be involved in the refurbishment and conversion of shipping containers into cold storage units, assisting skilled fabricators and fitters within the workshop. Day-to-day duties will include using hand and power tools, completing manual handling tasks, and supporting the production and repair of cold storage units. The role will also involve finishing work, including sealing and painting, alongside general workshop housekeeping duties.
Essential Skills, Experience, or Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a General Operative within a workshop environment would be beneficial
- Physically fit and capable of completing manual handling tasks
- Capable of following written and verbal instructions
- Confident using hand and power tools
Advantageous Skills, Experience, or Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a similar engineering or manufacturing role
- City & Guilds qualification in Fabrication, an engineering discipline, or equivalent
- MIG welding course
- FLT licence
