About the Role
Recruit4staff is representing a leading manufacturing business in Wolverhampton for the position of Automotive Quality Engineer.
Job Details
- Pay: Up to £22.50 per hour (PAYE) or up to £27.15 per hour (Umbrella)
- Hours of Work: 7:00am to 3:00pm Monday to Friday, with flexibility for possible afternoon shifts
- Duration: Temporary role for 6 months initially, potentially extendable
- Benefits: Immediate start available and potential overtime opportunities
Responsibilities
- Provide structured supplier technical assistance
- Ensure purchased components meet required standards for safety, quality, delivery & cost
- Lead and support robust closure of all supplier quality related issues for all new model related programmes
- Apply 8D methodology to resolve supplier issues
- Improve supplier capability
- Lead a variety of projects related to supplier quality
- Manage supplier issue escalation, especially for suppliers with repeat or significant quality issues during pre-build activities within the plant
- Work cross-functionally with Manufacturing/Engineering teams to provide technical problem-solving support for any issues
Essential Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Quality Engineer within an automotive/EPMC environment
- Qualified in Engineering or Quality
- Strong knowledge of 8D
- Experience with technical concepts such as APQP, PPAP, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, etc.
- Excellent communication skills
- Understanding of automotive quality processes
Desired Qualifications
- Six Sigma Green Belt
- Experience within BIW, Powertrain, Chassis, Trim or Electronics supply chain
- Experience working in an EPMC environment
