Recruit4staff are representing a well-established precision engineering business in their search for a CNC Machinist to work in Wigan.

Job Role:
Programming, setting and operating CNC Milling centres to manufacture bespoke, low-volume components. Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and 3D CAD files to determine optimal manufacturing techniques. Using offline CAD-CAM software to create tool paths and machining instructions. Running CNC Millers with Heidenhain controls to achieve maximum efficiency in batch production.

  • Hours of Work: Monday to Thursday 7:00am – 4:00pm, Friday 7:00am – 12:00pm
  • Duration: Permanent
  • Overtime Rules: Plenty of overtime available, paid at x1.5
  • Benefits: Onsite parking, clean working environment, modern CNC machinery
  • Programming and operating milling machines with Heidenhain controls
  • Previous experience of machining first off samples
  • Offline programming experience

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Experience working for a low volume batch manufacturer or precision engineer

Job Role: The CNC Turner will be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC lathes using Fanuc controls to produce small batches and one-off components. Working from detailed engineering drawings, the role involves creating programs, selecting tooling, and machining various grades of steel and alloy steels. This is a permanent role offering regular overtime and opportunities for additional training.

  • Hours of Work: Mon – Thurs 7.30am – 4.30pm, Friday 7.30am – 12.30pm
  • Duration: Permanent
  • Benefits: 25 days holiday plus overtime, plenty of overtime available, further training courses available
  • Batch manufacturing experience
