Operations Manager in Darlington

The Role – Operations Manager:

• Lead and oversee daily operations at the Darlington mill, ensuring optimal productivity and efficiency
• Drive a high-performance culture and foster continuous improvement across all departments, including production, transport, and maintenance
• Implement and monitor preventative maintenance programmes to reduce downtime and boost reliability
• Maintain mill costs within budget while reporting KPIs to the Board of Directors
• Ensure full compliance with health & safety regulations, business policies, and legal requirements
• Lead strategic initiatives to support business growth and uphold the company\’s industry-leading reputation
• Promote operational best practices and drive improvements to systems and processes

What our client is looking for in an Operations Manager:

• Extensive experience in feed mill management – ESSENTIAL
• Strong leadership and team development skills – ESSENTIAL
• IT literate with good knowledge of data reporting systems – ESSENTIAL
• Engineering or mechanical knowledge – DESIRABLE
• Degree in Business, Agriculture, or related field – DESIRABLE
• A hands-on, proactive approach with the ability to lead by example
