Recruit4staff are representing a well-established gastropub operator in their search for a Head Chef to work at their well established pub in Deeside
What are client is offering the successful Head Chef:
- Pay: Β£42,000 β Β£45,000 per annum
- Hours of Work: 45 hour contract β hours will vary on a rota basis (closed on a Monday)
- Duration: Permanent

Job Role:
- Responsible for overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and stock management.
- Developed and maintained high-quality seasonal menus with a focus on fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
- Managed kitchen budgets, including food cost control, supplier negotiations, and waste reduction strategies.
- Led, trained, and motivated a team of chefs and kitchen staff to ensure consistent quality and efficient service.
- Maintained high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in compliance with food safety regulations and health inspections.
- Collaborated with front-of-house managers to ensure smooth service, including coordinating special events and private functions.
- Monitored portion control and presentation to maintain brand standards and customer satisfaction.

- Previous experience working as a head chef β ESSENTIAL
- Experience of running a busy kitchen β ESSENTIAL
- Food Hygiene Certificate β ESSENTIAL
- Formal culinary qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent) β DESIRABLE
- Passion for British food, local produce, and creative menu development
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced kitchen.
- Team player with a positive attitude and strong communication skills.
