Recruit4staff are representing a market-leading animal feeds manufacturing business in their search for an Operations Manager to work in Oswestry.

Job Details:

  • Pay: Up to £50,000 per annum
  • Hours of Work: Monday to Friday working hours (days) with some weekend work when needed
  • Duration: Permanent
  • Benefits: Standard pension, 28 days' holiday including statutory bank holidays, training, progression opportunities and free parking

Job Role: As an Operations Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day management of a busy feed mill, ensuring safe, efficient and cost-effective operations. The Operations Manager will lead production, transport and maintenance teams while reporting KPIs to the Board of Directors, managing budgets, improving operational performance and implementing best practices to maximise efficiency. You will also champion a safety-first culture and ensure compliance with all business and legal requirements.

Essential Skills, Experience, or Qualifications:

  • Previous experience managing a feed mill within a fast-paced industry
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to prioritise workload and manage stakeholder expectations
  • Ability to achieve deadlines whilst working accurately and proactively solving problems
  • Ability to instil confidence and trust through knowledge and capability as an Operations Manager

Advantageous Skills, Experience, or Qualifications:

  • Degree educated in Business, Agriculture or a related discipline
  • Engineering knowledge would be advantageous

Additional Information:

  • Maintain and improve mill costs within budget restraints whilst reporting KPIs to the Board of Directors
  • Manage planned preventative maintenance programmes to minimise downtime
  • Drive continuous improvement of operational systems, processes and best practices
