Recruit4staff are representing an established building services and facilities management business in their search for a Facilities Maintenance Engineer - Electrical Bias to work at their prestigious client site in Cardiff.

Job Details:

  • Pay: £43,306.64 per annum + £2,500 shift allowance (£45,806.64 per annum)
  • Hours of Work: 7am–7pm / 7pm–7am, 4 on 4 off shift pattern, alternating between days and nights, 12-hour shifts
  • Duration: Permanent
  • Benefits: Company Sick Pay Scheme, regular company socials, free car parking, £750 staff referral scheme, birthday voucher, Perkbox, 5.7% employer pension contribution and 22 paid holiday shifts per year, increasing by an additional 2 days after 5 years' service

Job Role:

As the Facilities Maintenance Engineer - Electrical Bias, you will undertake planned and reactive maintenance and repair of electrical services within commercial buildings, alongside general building fabric tasks as required. The role involves servicing, maintenance, fault-finding and breakdown work across single-phase and three-phase electrical systems, HVAC systems and plant room equipment. The Facilities Maintenance Engineer - Electrical Bias will also complete appropriate paperwork and reports and supervise on-site subcontractors.

Essential Skills, Experience, or Qualifications:

  • Proven experience working within the facilities management sector, covering PPM and reactive maintenance in a Facilities Maintenance Engineer - Electrical Bias or similar position
  • Experience in maintenance, testing and fault-finding across equipment including emergency lighting, back-up power, HVAC plant, pumps, generators, switchgear, cables, batteries, small power and lighting
  • Ability to undertake multi-skilled work, including basic mechanical tasks such as plumbing and general fabric maintenance
  • City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification

Advantageous Skills, Experience, or Qualifications:

  • Test & Inspection qualification
  • F-Gas qualification
  • Commercial gas experience
  • Plumbing experience

The Facilities Maintenance Engineer - Electrical Bias will work a 4 on 4 off shift pattern, alternating between four day shifts, four days off, four night shifts and four days off. 12-hour shifts operating from 7am–7pm and 7pm–7am. £2,500 shift allowance.

Commutable From: Cardiff, Caerphilly, Newport, Bridgend, Pontypridd, Blackwood, Port Talbot.
