Recruit4staff are representing a leading manufacturing business in their search for an Automotive Quality Engineer to work in Wolverhampton.
Job Details:
- Pay: Up to £22.50 per hour (PAYE) or up to £27.15 per hour (Umbrella)
- Hours of Work: 7.00am to 3.00pm Monday to Friday, but flexibility is required, as it could involve possible Afternoon Shifts
- Duration: Temporary role for 6 months initially but this could be extended
- Benefits: Immediate start available and potential overtime opportunities.
Job Role - Automotive Quality Engineer
- Providing structured supplier technical assistance
- Ensure purchased components meet required standards for Safety, Quality, Delivery & Cost
- Lead & support robust closure of all supplier quality related issues for all new model related programmes
- Using 8D methodology
- Improving Supplier capability
- Leading a variety of projects
- Supplier issue management
- Developing relationships with a variety of internal stakeholders and supplier representatives
- Assess & implement escalation for suppliers who have recorded repeat/significant quality issues during pre-build activities within the plant
- Working cross-functionally with Manufacturing/Engineering teams to provide technical problem solving support to any issues
Essential Skills Experience, or Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Quality Engineer within an Automotive/EPMC environment
- Suitably qualified within Engineering / Quality
- Strong knowledge of 8D - Essential
- Experience with technical such as APQP, PPAP, 8D, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing etc
- Must have strong communication skills
- Understanding of Automotive quality processes
Desired Skills Experience, or Qualifications:
- Six Sigma Green Belt
- Experience within BIW, Powertrain, Chassis, Trim or Electronics Supply Chain
- Experience working in an EPMC environment
